The fee for Laser Vision Correction at Grendahl Eye Associates includes:

  • An evaluation to see if you are a candidate
  • An in-depth pre-procedure consultation and testing
  • The procedure with the most advanced Excimer Laser, the VISX Star S-4
  • Post-procedure examinations for two years after the procedure
  • Complimentary enhancements for two years after the procedure, should they be necessary
  • All Surgery Center expenses
  • All bandage contact lenses for PRK
  • Use of all microkeratomes for LASIK
  • Treatment of any PRK or LASIK related complications
  • All education materials, pamphlets, brochures, and video education presentations
  • The entire informed consent process including tests and forms
  • Post-procedure eye care kit



Conventional LASIK/PRK
Dr. Marvin J. Grendahl – The total fee for conventional laser vision correction is $1,999 per eye. This includes two years of follow-up care and free enhancements for two years after the initial procedure if needed. Custom LASIK/PRK
Dr. Marvin J. Grendahl – The total fee for custom laser vision correction is $1,999 per eye. This includes two years of follow-up care and free enhancements for two years after the initial procedure if needed. You can find information regarding custom laser vision correction under the Wavefront Technology tab on the homepage.

If you chose to have monovison, the intentional undercorrection of one eye, and are unhappy with it, we can do an enhancement on the undercorrected eye. The fee for this is at cost.

The fees at Grendahl Eye Associates are competitively priced, and with our payment options, we’ve made these procedures affordable for almost everyone. We accept Visa, MasterCard, cash, checks, and also have financing plans available!

The total payment must be received on day prior to the day of surgery. The surgery will be postponed until full payment is received. There are no hidden charges or surprises.

If you inquire about a competitor’s price make sure that you understand all the costs, are you getting all of the follow-up included? Follow-up is essential to get the best results. Be informed about which laser is going to be used on your eyes. The VISX Star S-4 is the best laser available in the U.S. today. We use the VISX Star S-4. Learn about your surgeon. Dr. Grendahl has been doing refractive surgery since 1982 and has done thousands of refractive surgical procedures.

Several progressive insurance companies have recently added laser vision correction to their list of covered benefits. However, most insurance plans do not cover laser vision correction.

We recommend that you check with your insurance agent to find out if you have any “refractive surgery benefits” included in your vision or medical plan. If full coverage were verified, we would be more than happy to bill your insurance company for you. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance and feel free to direct any questions regarding insurance coverage to our billing department.

Some employers will set up special pre-tax dollar medical and surgical accounts to pay for laser vision correction in conjunction with their employees. You should check this option out because it means substantial savings for you.
